How Your Support Helps

In 2018, Miles Hartz was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive childhood bone cancer. After five surgeries, three chemotherapy protocols, and several clinical trials, Miles passed on June 25, 2023.

Miles was a daring and thrill-seeking young man.  He loved the speed and precision of racing.  In honor of his memory and his love for racing, his loving parents, Ingrid and Dave Hartz, and his sister, Isabel, created the Miles of Hope Fund at the Osteosarcoma Institute to support vital research. Your participation in this event helps us fund critical research and bring us closer to a cure.

Osteosarcoma, the most common type of bone cancer in children and adolescents, remains a challenge with limited treatment options. Despite advances in cancer research, survival rates for osteosarcoma have not significantly improved over the past four decades. There is an urgent need for innovative treatments that can effectively target this aggressive cancer, improve patient outcomes, and offer hope to those affected by this devastating disease.
