Join us for the 3rd Annual Team Lydia Give Kids A Shot Golf Tournament!

Join us for a day on the green in honor of Lydia and her courageous fight against osteosarcoma. This special event brings together golfers, families, and advocates to raise critical funds for osteosarcoma research and awareness. Experience a memorable day of golf, connection, and impact—all while helping us drive progress toward a cure for osteosarcoma!

Golf to Benefit Osteosarcoma Research

Lydia was first diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 7, and then again at age 9. While she is now cancer-free and thriving, Lydia and her family are determined to help others facing this devastating bone cancer. To make a lasting impact, the Alwan family and their dedicated support network — Team Lydia — have partnered with the Osteosarcoma Institute to host their 3rd annual golf tournament, rallying their community to raise awareness and funds for pediatric osteosarcoma research.

Since its founding in Fall 2022, Team Lydia has raised $147,170 through the 2023 and 2024 golf tournaments and generous donations. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Team Lydia Osteosarcoma Science Fund, which supports expert-driven research through the OSI. Every dollar goes directly toward groundbreaking osteosarcoma studies, including new projects and clinical trials aimed at developing urgently needed treatments. Your generous support fuels innovation and brings hope to children and adolescents battling osteosarcoma, helping to improve outcomes for patients like Lydia.

Day-of Contacts

Jessica and Steve Alwan, Lydia’s parents, will be the day-of-event contacts for questions about the golf tournament or reception. They can also assist with inquiries about sponsorships, tickets, or event details leading up to the event.

About the Osteosarcoma Institute

Our Strategy

Globally estimated, there are over 26,000 new cases of osteosarcoma diagnosed each year, with 1,000 being diagnosed in the US, but treatment options haven’t advanced in 40 years. To find a cure for osteosarcoma, we have to collaborate, innovate, and translate around the most promising science.

Our Mission

The Osteosarcoma Institute’s mission is to dramatically increase treatment options and survival rates in osteosarcoma patients through identifying and funding the most promising and breakthrough osteosarcoma clinical trials and science.
