Help Us Get One Step Closer to a Cure

Triple your impact when you give during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Each year, hundreds of children and teens in the U.S. are diagnosed with osteosarcoma, but treatments haven’t advanced for 40 years. This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, you can help change that.
When you donate to the Osteosarcoma Institute in September, your impact will be tripled, thanks to the generous gift matches from the Fego and Khanna families. That means that a donation of $50 from the community will result in $150 going to osteosarcoma research during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. And, as always, 100% of your donation goes directly to supporting research.

“Research and trials are necessary to help kids like me.”

A fierce advocate for the advancement of childhood cancer research, Izzy Martin was just 12 years old when she lost her battle against osteosarcoma, but her legacy lives on through the TeamIzzy Foundation Research Fund.

“We wanted the money to stay focused on osteosarcoma research. When we found the OSI, we were just like, ‘Wow, this is it.’”

After the passing of their son, Scott, Terriann and Steve Shockley established the Scott Shockley Foundation. In 2023, the foundation donated $25,000 to the Osteosarcoma Institute.

“It is unacceptable that children are dying, that families are wrecked, because we do not prioritize osteosarcoma research.”

David and Ingrid Hartz have made it their life’s work to end osteosarcoma in honor of their son, Miles (2006–2023).

“A two in three survival rate isn’t good enough.”

Although Sarah Bright’s son Cole is in remission from osteosarcoma, she worries that he may relapse. Advocating for osteosarcoma research has become an outlet for her caregiver trauma.

What We Do

Our Strategy

Globally estimated, there are over 26,000 new cases of osteosarcoma diagnosed each year, with 1,000 being diagnosed in the United States, but treatment options haven’t advanced in 40 years. To find a cure for osteosarcoma, we have to collaborate, innovate, and translate around the most promising science.

Our Mission

The mission of the Osteosarcoma Institute is to dramatically increase treatment options and survival rates in osteosarcoma patients through identifying and funding the most promising and breakthrough osteosarcoma clinical trials and science.

Our Impact

Funding, removing obstacles, raising awareness and working together. The Osteosarcoma Institute funds breakthrough clinical trials and science to identify new treatments, and ultimately a cure for osteosarcoma.
