Golf to Benefit Osteosarcoma Research
Lydia was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at age 7 and then again at age 9. While she is now cancer-free and thriving, Lydia and her family want to make an impact for other children and adolescents with this devastating bone cancer. The Alwan family and their support network — Team Lydia — is partnering with the Osteosarcoma Institute to host a 2nd annual golf tournament to advance osteosarcoma research. Last year’s inaugural Team Lydia Golf Tournament raised $63,000 for osteosarcoma research.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, the Team Lydia Science Fund has raised $80,000 to date for expert osteosarcoma research with the OSI! Your funding allows expert researchers to continue their work to accomplish meaningful change for osteosarcoma patients and their families.

Globally estimated, there are over 26,000 new cases of osteosarcoma diagnosed each year, with 1,000 being diagnosed in the US, but treatment options haven’t advanced in 40 years. To find a cure for osteosarcoma, we have to collaborate, innovate, and translate around the most promising science.
Our Mission
The Osteosarcoma Institute’s mission is to dramatically increase treatment options and survival rates in osteosarcoma patients through identifying and funding the most promising and breakthrough osteosarcoma clinical trials and science.
